Practice Overview

David V. Spurlin, M.D. is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and a graduate of the University of Michigan. He completed his residency training at U of M where he was a member of the Cancer Center’s Multidisciplinary Melanoma Clinic and a Melanoma Fellow. Dr. Spurlin maintains concentrations in Dermatologic Surgery, Laser Surgery, as well as Cosmetic Dermatology. Dr. Spurlin is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Medical Association, the National Medical Association, the Michigan State Medical Society, and a staff member at Royal Oak William Beaumont Hospital. Dr. Spurlin resides in Bloomfield Hills with his wife Chronda and their two dogs, Otto and Micah.

Victoria Verkest is a certified Physician Assistant and familiar face for Pinnacle Dermatology. She is a graduate of Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University where she earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences. Prior to beginning her Physician Assistant career, Victoria was part of the office staff working as a medical assistant. She moved to Ohio to earn her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Marietta College. As a Physician Assistant student, she spent time in Chicago with several highly regarded dermatologists where she received mentorship with a specific focus on skin cancer detection, acne and eczema. Victoria was elected and served as her program’s representative for the American Academy of Physician Assistants Assembly of Representatives. She continued to excel in dermatology by earning a perfect score on her Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam, ranking her among the highest scoring examinees for dermatology content. Her knowledge and experience in dermatology stems from being personally mentored by Dr. Spurlin. Victoria grew up in Harrison Township and is currently a resident of Metro Detroit along with her fiancé, Nick, and their one-eyed dog, Wilson.
